Before Things Go Well: Why Mindset and Small Actions Matter
We deliberately changed our morning routine at a special edition of Tea with Reason, that took place on Friday, 23 January 2026, at the Center of Excellence in Finance. Stepping away from everyday meetings and habitual ways of working, we paused, reflected, and challenged ourselves how we approach everyday situations.
Organised together with our People and Culture Council and member Hansen Beck, we focused on a simple but demanding premise: positive outcomes are rarely accidental. They are shaped by mindset, everyday choices, and the way we approach situations before they unfold.
We explored how mindset influences the way we work, lead, and interact with others. People are often more productive and creative when they are in a positive state of mind and genuinely enjoying themselves, and even a conscious shift in mindset before a demanding meeting or conversation can make a difference.
A further focus was on relationships that feel difficult or stuck. Instead of concentrating on changing others, we discovered how gradual, intentional changes in our own behaviour and attitude can influence the tone and direction of interactions over time. Even small shifts can set the tone and outcome.
The session concluded with a quite inspiring takeaway: only actions create results. Intentions and reflection matter, but real progress comes from consistently applying even the smallest changes in everyday situations.
Roger Vogler, a special guest from Switzerland, and Bojana Florjančič, both from Hansen Beck, guided us through the session and encouraged us to think differently.
