The Business Community Sends a Clear Message to Policymakers: "We Need Fewer Burdens and Greater Predictability"
Ljubljana, 13 January 2026 – The business community is acutely aware of the need to shape stable and development-oriented policies that strengthen Slovenia’s competitiveness and improve quality of life. Businesses expect responsibility, clear decision-making, and a partnership between politics and the economy that extends beyond individual electoral terms. It was precisely for this reason that today’s event brought together representatives of political parties with relevant support in public opinion polls.
Together, participants addressed Slovenia’s key development issues of long-term importance for both the economy and society. These included tax policy as the foundation of a competitive business environment, demographic challenges and healthcare, infrastructure as the backbone of development and investment, and Slovenia’s development potential, which can be realised through clear, predictable, and ambitious policies.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the following political parties, listed in alphabetical order: Demokrati, Dr Anže Logar; Gibanje Svoboda, Klemen Boštjančič; Levica, Luka Mesec; Nova Slovenija, Jernej Vrtovec; Prerod, Dr Vladimir Prebilič; Resnica, Andrej Perc; Slovenska demokratska stranka, Polona Rifelj; and Socialni demokrati, Matevž Frangež. At the invitation of Gospodarski krog, the meeting was also attended by Marko Lotrič, Fokus, and President of the Slovenian Association of Employers in Craft and Small Business, who is a member of Gospodarski krog.
