The BSCC People & Culture Council met on 18 September to reflect on its first two years, confirm its leadership for the next term, and agree on the direction of its work going forward.

Matic Čad, Partner at Law Firm Čad, was re-elected as Co-Chair, while Mateja Panjan, Talent Development Lead at Danfoss Climate Solutions, was elected as the Council’s second Co-Chair, having previously served as its Expert Facilitator. Amela Žrt, Partner at CMS Slovenia, was appointed as the Council’s new Expert Facilitator.

We would also like to thank Dimitrij Miklič, CEO of Erudio for serving as Co-Chair during the previous term.

The session also provided an opportunity to revisit the Council’s mission. At its core, the Council is about people and culture as a strategic business priority. Its aim is to create a strong community around sustainable development, inclusion, accountability, and innovation, while sharing good practices that support organisational growth and stronger collaboration within the Slovenian business environment.

Looking ahead, the Council will continue discussions around AI and the future of work, leadership development, multigenerational and inclusive workplaces, and leader wellbeing, while keeping best-practice sharing among member organisations at the heart of its activities. Another priority will be to extend these conversations beyond the Council itself and share relevant knowledge and ideas with the wider business community.

A special part of the morning was our conversation with a guest speaker Boštjan Koritnik, Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Ljubljana, and a discussion on employee development, education, and talent. A key topic was the need for closer cooperation between employers, educational institutions, and local communities, with talent development beginning well before an individual enters the workplace.
