Slovenia’s energy transition and the broader strategy for achieving a sustainable energy future is set in National Energy Programme. With thermal power plants, currently supplying one-third of Slovenia’s energy and set to close by 2030, and the Krško Nuclear Power Plant extending its lifetime to 2042, Slovenia faces crucial decisions about its energy mix for the coming decades.
We will address how SMRs and renewable energy sources can support the country’s decarbonization goals and electrification needs while ensuring energy security and economic growth. Drawing on UK expertise in innovative financing mechanisms, supply chain localization, and strategic energy planning, the discussions will highlight opportunities for international collaboration, policy reforms, and investments to meet Slovenia's energy demands from 2025 to 2040. Through expert panels and discussions, the event aims to outline a clear path forward for a resilient and carbon-neutral energy system.
Attendance at the event is free of charge; however, advance registration via this link is required. Cancellations are free of charge up to 24 hours before the event.
