Business Delegation to London Opens the Door to New Business Opportunities for Slovenian Companies in the Construction, IT, Pharma, and Food Sectors

London, 21 March 2025 - Today marks the end of a business delegation organised by the British-Slovenian Chamber of Commerce, SPIRIT Slovenia and the Ministry of Economy, Tourism and Sport, in cooperation with the West London Chambers of Commerce, between 18 and 21 March 2025. Focusing on the construction, IT, pharma, and food sectors, the delegation allowed 11 representatives of Slovenian companies to gain access to the opportunities of the UK market and forge new business connections.

On the first day, the delegation visited The Green Quarter, one of London's most important regeneration projects. The 45 hectares of former industrial land alongside the Grand Union Canal is being developed into a modern residential and commercial centre, combining 3,750 new homes, extensive green space and space for business and social activities. In the evening, a dinner was held with the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to the United Kingdom Sanja Štiglic, and representatives of the VTIS Association, who presented their activities and the opportunities they offer to companies seeking to recruit staff or to connect with their members, who are employed by a number of British companies. They were also joined by representatives of the West London Chambers, with whom participants discussed opportunities for further cooperation.

The delegates spent the second day at the West London Chambers headquarters, where they heard presentations from the British-Slovenian Chamber of Commerce, SPIRIT Slovenia and two UK market entry consulting firms – Rochester PR Group ( Managing Director Joanna Dodd) and JMB Partnership (Managing Director James Blakemore). Rochester PR Group specialises in supporting businesses in entering the UK market, primarily through strategic communications, media relations, and brand reputation building. Their services include planning and executing PR campaigns, crisis communications consultancy, and corporate branding. JMB Partnership offers a full range of business development and UK market entry services, including identifying potential customers, arranging meetings with relevant stakeholders, and building long-term business relationships.

On this occasion, representatives of the West London Chambers presented the key business opportunities offered by the local environment, while members of the delegation also introduced themselves to British companies, members of the West London Chambers, and presented their services and products. They also participated in B2B meetings which allowed them to establish direct contacts with British companies, gain an understanding of the specific requirements of the market, and explore opportunities for new partnerships.

On the third day, the delegation attended the conference "Driving International Trade 2025", organised by the British Chambers of Commerce, which brought together more than 400 international trade experts, representatives of the UK Government and business leaders in central London. Delegates learned why the UK is the perfect gateway to global markets and took part in additional B2B meetings with conference attendees from relevant sectors. Speakers at the conference included Tamara Zajec Balažič, Acting Director of SPIRIT Slovenia, who presented Slovenia's business environment with its skilled workforce and strategic location in Europe, as well as the investment opportunities it offers.

The delegation wrapped up with a visit to the Palace of Westminster, where Lord German hosted a guided tour of the House of Lords, sharing fascinating facts about the political system of the United Kingdom.
