People and Culture Council Sets Key Priorities for 2024/25 Term
People and Culture Council held its second session on 8 November 2024, outlining its 2024/25 strategic agenda aimed at promoting a progressive and inclusive workplace environment in Slovenia. For the coming term, the Council’s efforts will focus on three core topics: "Future of Work: Trends and Predictions", "Leadership Development and Succession Planning", and "Employee Engagement and Retention Strategies."
The "Future of Work: Trends and Predictions" topic will address the impact of automation and AI on the workforce, alongside the rise of flexible work arrangements and the gig economy. Preparing employees with future-ready skills will be a priority, supporting Slovenian businesses as they prepare for an increasingly digitalized workplace.
Through "Leadership Development and Succession Planning", the Council aims to build a pipeline of future leaders, supported by leadership development programs and strategies for effective succession planning.
The third theme, "Employee Engagement and Retention Strategies", will focus on measuring and enhancing employee engagement, implementing innovative retention strategies, and address the role of feedback and communication in boosting employee satisfaction.
A notable update was the announcement that the VTIS Mentoring Programme has now commenced, with a few Chamber members joining as mentors. This program connects young professionals at home and abroad with Slovenian companies, offering support in their career development.
The Council will host expert speakers from the United Kingdom at its future sessions who will share their best practice examples in the area of people and culture. Insights and best practices gathered over the next two years will be adapted and compiled into a compendium to support Chamber members and contribute to the wider Slovenian business community.
A special thank you goes to our member Corwin Slovenia for hosting this session.
