We Are Establishing New Councils

We are pleased to announce the establishment of two essential Councils within the British-Slovenian Chamber of Commerce by November 2023: the UK Trade Council and the Investors' Council. The two Councils are dedicated to fostering collaboration, addressing challenges, seizing opportunities, and navigating the ever-evolving landscape affecting trade and investment between Slovenia and the United Kingdom.

The inaugural meeting of the UK Trade Council will be held on 5 October 2023 and the inaugural meeting of the Investors' Council on 14 November 2023. Both Councils represent an important landmark in our efforts to further strengthen and facilitate bilateral economic relations between Slovenia and the UK.

UK Trade Council

The UK Trade Council aims to facilitate the expansion of trade between these two nations, focusing on the following key areas:

  • informing Slovenian and UK companies on rules and regulations on trade-related topics.
  • identifying market access barriers that prevent companies from engaging in fair trade.
  • pursuing policy advocacy to facilitate trade and collaborating with the Slovenian government.
  • providing expert market advice from the Chamber's members and partners, as well as from the Department for Business and Trade.
  • providing companies doing business with the UK and Slovenia with market advice and relevant contacts to facilitate trade or overcome business obstacles.
